(Do It) Like Escher

The Herakleidon Museum and the Experimental High School of the University of Macedonia co-organize an exhibition titled "do it like Escher." The exhibition includes mathematical and artistic creations by the students of the Experimental High School of the University of Macedonia and the award-winning mathematical game Wizzle by the student Virtual Enterprise Isometricks (De La Vega Global Entrepreneurship Award 2024) of JA Greece, which draw inspiration from the work of the Dutch visual artist M.C. Escher, along with material related to Escher from the museum's collection.

The museum will implement an Educational Program in which students will be guided through the exhibition, discover the mathematical ideas behind Escher's works, learn about Wizzle and how it was created by a student enterprise, understand the methods their peers used to create the exhibition's works and the various Wizzle models, and design their own mathematical-artistic creations in Escher's style.

The exhibition is open according to the museum's operating hours and will run from November 13, 2024, to May 31, 2025.
