Canvassed Encounters - Encounters on Canvas
The Exhibition "Canvassed Encounters - Encounters on Canvas," inaugurated on August 1 and running until the end of October, focuses on weaving and clothing across all stages of their supply chain, encompassing every step from production to usage and recycling of fabrics. The exhibition features installations, paintings, technical simulations, replicas, actual fabrics, and reconstructions. The exhibits certainly fall within the broader field of weaving and clothing, as well as related areas such as various intangible techniques worldwide, woven fibers, writing, trade, the phenomenon of fashion, symbolism, and representations.
For educational purposes, the Herakleidon Museum collaborates with the Tsakonia Archive, an organization with a long tradition in fabric and weaving arts, aimed at preserving Tsakonian weaving using vertical looms.
