EDVARD MUNCH – BEYOND SCREAM
The exhibition “Edvard Munch- Beyond scream” presented 10 engravings by Edvard Munch from the Keates collection of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Athens and the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Athens, with the support of the Embassy of Norway and the Norwegian Institute of Athens.
Edvard Munch said: “With my art I tried to perceive life and its meaning”.
“Many years ago, Charles and Evelyn Kramer assembled one of the largest collections of engravings by Edvard Munch, which they donated to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art,” says Pavlos Firos (founder of Herakleidon Museum) “Thanks to their close collaboration, and to the substantial support of the professor Modechai Omer, we can today present these 80 works. Our gratitude for allowing these precious and fragile works to travel to Greece for the benefit of our visitors is boundless”.
As part of the exhibition, the museum publishes a collection catalog translated in English and Greek.
