European Heritage Days

From Friday, September 27th to Monday, September 30th, the Herakleidon Museum celebrated the European Heritage Days with a series of events.

The celebration centered around the exhibition “Encounters on Canvas - The Canvas of Encounters,” whose main narrative received a monetary award from the European Commission and the Council of Europe specifically for the celebration of the European Heritage Days.

Throughout the event, Ms. Vasiliki Papakosta presented the exhibition to the public. Additionally, from 12:00 to 13:30, she designed and offered an activity related to fabric, aimed at families.

On Saturday and Sunday, educators from the Tsakonia Archive demonstrated the Tsakonian Weaving Art, and visitors had the opportunity to weave on vertical looms.

On Sunday, one of the curators, Ms. Iris Tzahili, guided visitors through the exhibition.

Finally, on Monday, Ms. Eleni Poutsela, a collaborator of the Tsakonia Archive, offered a weaving workshop titled “Learn to Weave, and You Have My Blessing” to high school students from Athens.
